Find a free digital wedding invitation that fits your plans

A free digital wedding invitation can mean free artwork, free online replies, a trial, or a service you already pay for elsewhere. Check what is included before choosing. Joy, Evite, Apple Invites, Canva, and Harmony solve different parts of the job. Harmony is free to start, with no credit card to start; that is not a promise about a full wedding’s final cost or an unlimited guest allowance. Choose around your design, sharing, and RSVP needs.

Who this is for

Use this comparison if you are trying to avoid paying for a feature you do not need, but still want an invitation guests can understand and answer. Start with the whole journey: make the invitation, send it, collect replies, and handle changes. A free design is useful, but it is not automatically the same as a complete invitation workflow.

Harmony publishes this page. The official sources listed below were fetched on 8 October 2026. Free claims refer only to the features those sources describe. We do not infer a guest allowance, a forever-free plan, or the absence of future charges from a signup button. Check your chosen plan again before sending.

How to compare free offers

Write a small checklist before opening a design gallery. If you need attendance, plus-ones, and food preferences, include those requirements from the beginning. Otherwise you may finish the artwork before discovering that you still need a place for guests to answer.

  1. Decide whether you need artwork only or a page with RSVP. Write down which details the guest must read and which answers you need back.
  2. Choose the sharing channel: WhatsApp, text, email, or a mixture. Test the actual link or file you intend to send on a phone.
  3. Read the selected free offer and any exclusions stated by the provider. Separate a free download from a host subscription and separate a trial from a completed send.
  4. Check the final invitation and reply journey before sharing widely. Keep a human contact for changes and for guests who cannot use the online route.

How the five options differ

Joy, also called Withjoy, advertises a free wedding website and RSVP tools on its official site. That is relevant when you want a broader wedding website. Evite has free and Premium invitation choices; its help page distinguishes Premium extras, including an ad-free experience. Do not assume a design or extra is free simply because the provider also has a free option.

Apple’s official Invites announcement says hosts create events with iCloud+, while guests can reply on the web without an Apple account or subscription. A free app download is therefore different from a no-cost hosting arrangement. Canva’s wedding invitation page describes free and paid design assets and electronic sharing. Decide how you will collect replies rather than assuming an invitation image alone handles attendance.

Harmony provides an invitation page you can customize and share as a link, with browser replies and custom questions. Its allowed starting claim here is free to start, with no credit card to start. No numerical competitor price is needed for this comparison; the important difference is what each free claim covers. The source links let you inspect the exact offer for your use.

A worked example

Suppose a fictional couple wants to invite family to a ceremony and reception, share the details mainly on WhatsApp, and collect food preferences before a deadline. Their first requirement is readable information and a reply. Their second is a look they are happy to send. They do not need to judge every possible wedding-planning feature.

They try a page with names, date, venue, local times, and a clear RSVP deadline. For Harmony, they can test the starting flow and browser reply without treating the words “free to start” as a final budget. For the other options, they check the free feature they actually need and whether their chosen design or hosting arrangement adds a cost.

If they choose Canva for artwork, they still decide where an RSVP will go and make that destination clear. If they choose Joy, they consider whether a full wedding website is useful. If they already subscribe to iCloud+, they still test whether Apple Invites fits their wedding reply questions. This is a decision example, not a claim that any option is universally cheapest.

When Harmony is the worse choice

Harmony is the worse choice if you want the broader wedding website and registry Joy advertises, a particular Evite design and its selected experience, or artwork creation as your main task. It can also be the wrong choice if you need a guaranteed free completed workflow at a particular guest count; this page makes no such promise for Harmony.

Choose according to the confirmed requirement rather than the biggest word “free” on the page. If you want printed fulfillment, an animated video, or a seating system, check a provider that explicitly supplies that service. The verified Harmony offer here is a shareable invitation page with guest replies, not every part of wedding planning.

Frequently asked questions

Which option is entirely free?

There is no single answer established here for every wedding. Read the scope of each checked offer. Harmony is free to start; Joy advertises free website and RSVP tools; other providers distinguish free choices, paid extras, assets, or a host subscription.

Does a free download include free hosting?

Not necessarily. Apple’s announcement separates the free app download from the iCloud+ requirement for creating invitations. Check what the host needs, not only what guests pay to open a link.

Can I just send a picture on WhatsApp?

You can choose an image as the announcement, but decide how guests should reply and how you will keep attendance and food answers together. A clear RSVP destination matters whichever design format you use.
